Comfortable, Convenient & Great Value for Money!

I travel alone to visit friends in the area and feel very safe and comfortable here. Freeway access is close, but it's quiet and private on top of a hill. The owner is very accommodating when it comes to check-in times. This is a big plus when I arrive before the normal hotel check-in time of 3pm. I've stayed here twice and plan on using it as my regular hotel when visiting the area. Much nicer than the budget hotels, but with same or lower rates. I highly recommend it. -Trip Advisor Review

Very pleased with our stay

We stayed here on the first night of our PCH vacation and we were very pleased with our stay. The owner/manager was very nice, answered our questions and made sure we had all we needed. He encouraged us to look around and to feel free to use the clubhouse to watch game 6 of the NLCS, which we did. Our motel room was older, but newly decorated in a rustic/ranch sort of feel and was very clean. The bed was comfy and he happily gave us the extra pillows we asked for. The continental breakfast was more than adequate for our start the next day. If we are ever in the area again, we would happily stay here.  -Trip Advisor review

So Glad We Stayed Here!

My husband and I were on a 2 week trip of the Central Coast and on a tight budget. I had already booked a room in Solvang but wasn't confident that it was worth the price. I saw mixed reviews of the SkyView, but at $82.50 for one night, I decided to give it a try - I couldn't be happier.

David, the new manager at the Skyview was AMAZING. So friendly and helpful. We were coming from San Louis Obispo, so we were going to be arriving well before "normal check in time." David said come on directly to the hotel, if our room was ready he would let us check in early or let us put up our luggage so we could go wine tasting.

When we got there our room was ready, small but very cute with the cowboy headboard and night sky painted on the ceiling. We checked in, David gave us directions to close wineries and a fantastic recommendation for dinner (Full of Life Flatbread).

We had a great night's sleep (granted that was facilitated by some of the wonderful wines we tasted that day). The next morning we were surprised by the high quality of breakfast that was offered. The pool table was converted into a breakfast bar with fresh fruit, muffins and there was make your own waffles and really good coffee and selection of juices, yogurt, granola bars, and cereals. The breakfast far exceeded my expectations.

We are inclined to like this place because we motored up at 8pm on a Saturday night and were very glad they had a room for us. But on top of just being a convnient place to stay, the Skyview has a lot going for it.

True to the name, you are on top of a hill (albeit above a freeway) with great sunset views. David and his wife bought the place last November and told us they have made a lot of changes since. Our room was very clean, the sheets had a freshly laundered smell and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast included two Belgian waffle makers, which bumped the continental up a notch above the cereal, bagel and fruit basket basics.

There is also a small, clean pool, a spacious meeting area with ping-pong, pool table and widescreen TV, so plenty to entertain the family.

Very clean motel, reasonably priced. Very quaint old style motel. They have a rec room with a ping pong table, big screen TV and a pool table to entertain yourself. You can sit by the roaring fire and read in the rec room. Pool was closed while we where there for the season. Only compliant very small TV in the room. Terrific gem near Solvang

A group of us recently traveled to the Solvang area to ride in the Solvang Century Bicycle Ride. Solvang and Buellton hotels/motels were booked nearly a year in advance for this big annual event...and hugely expensive as a result. I found the Skyview Motel online and booked 5 rooms with them...in the beautiful quiet little town of Los Alamos about 18 miles from Solvang.

The motel has great quaint charm. The rooms are comfortable and clean and Daniel, the manager was very gracious. Although the motel was built in the 60's (?) it is well maintained. There is a Rec room with pool table, pingpong, flat screen TV and bike open fireplace. Swimming pool as well.

The rates were reasonable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The new owners/managers are striving towards great customer service and it shows. We'll definitely stay there again for next year's ride! - Trip Advisor Review

I read some some of the bad reviews on here and to be honest, I'm a little confused. My time at the Skyview was amazing. I love the Western style decor... it looks like a modern day version of a spaghetti western movie set! Clint Eastwood might pop his head around any corner. But seriously, the place looks great... very clean, very well kept. Also, it seems like a very safe area to bring the kids. The rooms are fresh and clean, and mine had a beautiful view (and Wi-Fi)!!!!. There's a large, terrific clubhouse with a big screen tv, a pool table, a ping-pong table, and fireplace. I talked with the manager, who said he had just started, so perhaps the new management the place fixed up. All in all, I had a great time and would stay again. -Trip Advisor Review

We had a great stay. The rooms are clean, nice staff.  Everyone was taking pictures of the sunset and strangers visited with each other while having coffee. These people take care of you if you ask for anything at all, and that's hard to find. I was pleasantly surprised to find this place. I recommend it highly!!
