6th Annual Mushrooms Gone Wild!

Join winemaker Stephan Bedford and other mushroom devotees for the Wine and Mushroom Admiration Reception. at the Bedford Winery Courtyard in Los Alamos which will include the display, discussion, and the digestion of the venerated shroom.

Mushrooms are “local” varieties and those brought in from Oregon. Our past “appetizers” included  savory tarts, french fries drizzled with truffle oil and truffle salt, layered patés, wood-fired flatbreads, exotic curries and more, featuring Chantrelle, Oyster, Porcini, Morel, Portabello,Crimini, Hedgehog, Black Trumpet, and Shitake varieties (among others), while sipping old favorites and new vintages of Bedford wines.

An impressive exhibit of edible and inedible mushrooms will be on display. Discussion topics range from wild mushroom identification to the impact of foraging on native resources. Guests are invited to peruse winemaker’s Stephan Bedford’s extensive collection of books and field guides and are encouraged to bring their own books and favorite recipes to share.

The fungus fun begins at 2 p.m.; cost is only $25 per person, $20 for Bedford Wine Club Members. Cost includes wine tasting. This event will sell out, so make reservations today!

Solvang Century March 12th

You're an Earlybird, for most things.

You're going to get an early ride start because that's just how you are. You want to be out on the course knowing most of the other 5000 riders are behind you. You're thinking that the ones who started before you are well within your ability to catch, or at least have fun trying.

You also like saving money when you can.

Here's an idea.

Stay with us for the Solvang Century. We're just a few minutes down the road and half the price.

You're going to start the ride early and that means you'll finish early. Early enough to get back to your room, clean your bike, relax, take a nap and be an earlybird just down the street at Full of Life Flatbread for dinner.

Just how you like it.

And the money you'll save staying with us will pay for dinner! Such a deal.

We'll save you just as much even if you're not an earlybird.

See you then.
